The Liebster Award!

Hello everyone,
I'm excited to tell you that I have been nominated by Beth from http://teawithbeth.blogspot.co.uk/ to take part in the The Leibster Awards. I was super happy when Beth asked me to participate as I am in love with her blog.

The Rules

Answer the questions that are sent to you.
Nominate 10 bloggers who have under 200 followers on twitter.
Ask them 12 questions of your own.
Notify them that they've been nominated.

Questions asked by Beth:

1. Do you have a sweet tooth? What are your favorite recipes?

I 100% have a sweet tooth! Anything with Nutella in and I'm there! My personal favourite is either Nutella hot chocolate or chocolate chip sponge cake, so good.

2. What do you like about blogging?

I like that I can post what I like and voice my opinion and thoughts on a space I can call my own.

3. Favorite book of all time?

I love the perks of being a wallflower. (cliché I know.) I created such a connection with each of the characters through similarities in their personalities that I could think of them as friends. I would 100% recommend anyone to get wrapped up in this wonderful book.

5. Name 5 beauty products you can't live without.

Vaseline rosy lips - All good drugstores
Mango body butter - the body shop
Iced caramel, shade 625 lipstick - Maybelline
Sudocrem - All good drugstores
Mineralise powder shade natural - Mac

(I previously wrote a blog post discussing some of these products > Beauty saviours)

6. You're in a store (it doesn't matter which one) and you can pick one thing that you'll have a lifetime supply of. What is it?

Nutella.

7. Do you prefer bold lip colors or nude ones?

I'm all for purple lips. You rarely see me sporting a nude lip as I like my lips to be my statement look. The bolder, the better I say!

8. What's one thing you love about yourself?

My eyebrows. They are my pride and joy.

9. Would you survive in a mall with just $10?

I think I'd do ok... as long as I can get a cup of tea and slice of cake.

10. Do you prefer the quiet countryside or the bustling city?

I grew up in a small village but wasn't to far a drive from shops, restaurants etc. so I would 100% stay true to my roots and stick to the country.

11. Best place to eat?

Prezzo. I could live off Italian food.

12. If you could choose one season to live in for the rest of time, which would it be?

I would live in Spring. Although Autumn is my favourite season I would rather live Spring as you can always have the sunny days yet you can still get away with a cute over sized jumper rather than a jacket.

My nominees are:
(Each of the girls blogs are linked to their names)

My questions are:
1- Favourite bloggers?
2- What is your essential fashion item?
3- Why did you start blogging?
4- Favourite movie?
5- Favourite quote?
6- How would you describe your style?
7- Everyday makeup look?
8- Favourite book?
9- Favourite perfume?
10- Top 5 Youtubers?
11- High street or high end?
12- Perks of having a blog?

Sweet Saturday

Hello everyone,
This weeks theme for #teenblogsunite was to create a recipe of your choice. I again decided to try and do something different with the theme as I cant bake or cook to save your life. I did attempt earlier in the week to recreate Tanya Burrs Oreo cupcakes but they ended up cremated. I think ill take a miss entering the Great British Bake Off. So I decided to write about a recipe that doesn't require cooking or baking of any form. Not only is this a pearfect breakfast or pudding its also healthy yet tastes delicious.
Keep smiling,
M x

September Favourites

Hello strawberries,
This will be my first set of monthly favourites to debut on strawberrybloggings. As I am a student I don't have much money to continue funding new products to talk about. This may cause my favourites my be every two months instead of one.

Superdrugs' own de-stressing face mask

For me face masks are the key to good skin. It does exactly what is says on the tin. It relaxing drys quickly and leaves your skin fresh, revived and baby smooth.

MUA lipstick shade 11

I'm. In. Love. I mentioned a month or two ago that my favourite lipstick, iced coffee from maybelline, had been discontinued and I constantly hunt for a similar shade. This is my perfect dupe! It's a peachy nude that suits a more tanned skin but, would look good on pretty much anyone.

Collection 2000 nails varnish shade 3

It's coming to that time in the year where autumnal shades are becoming a common colour. So I thought I would join the trend and buy a pretty red. It last long but does chip quite easily without a top coat.

Wake me up foundation

I've always had a love hate relationship with this foundation as I wasn't a fan of the shimmer but I do like the finish it leaves. I eventually gave up trying to become a fan of it as so many people had raved about it but, decided to revisit and and finally understood what the drama was about. Ive completely fallen in love with everything about it and can confidently say its been added to my holy grail of products.

Primark dolly shoes

Ah dolly shoes. I personally love the whole dolly shoes trend as i get to revisit my childhood nostalgia and look cute. what not to love! and when they're £12 seriously, try and find a fault.

Glamour magazine, Fearne Cotton edition

Not only is Fearne a fabulous mum and beautiful human being. Shes also a business woman and radio and TV personnel. I don't know how she does it. I genuinely look up to her as she manages to juggle so many passions along with a family lifestyle, I think it takes a very put together person to do so many thing and make each one of them flourish into something beautiful.

Divergent trilogy

As you know I'm all for a good book and whens there is 3 of them I've basically hit the jackpot. For me a book is like being transported to your ideal reality and trust me id rather live in mine than the one we have today. Books have become so under hyped that when you find a person who also shares an interest in reading I instantly want to become best friends with them. Aside from that Divergent is a thriller trilogy that you can really sink your teeth into. Its also one where you become rapped up in the characters and don't want to let them go when it all comes to an end.

Brighton Chronicles Part II

Hello everyone,
After Saturdays jammed packed day Sunday was far more relaxed. The day of unwinding began back at Hove Kitchen only this time with salmon and as always a good book.

For me a simple walk along the seafront is the most mesmerizing part of Brighton as the view is ever changing yet captivating every time.

Having a younger sibling mean I spend a lot of my time in play parks but of course this wasn't your average rusty swings and broken slides we had a steel pan player, water fountains and coffees. It was wonderful.

After a few solid hours of swings and sandpits we took a peaceful stroll down the the arcades. Unfortunately for me anxiety has to make an appearance and in confined busy spaces it wasn't the most memorable of experiences this weekend.

I decided to divert an unwanted panic filled scene by talk a walk down to the laines. This, for me is the most beautiful spot you can find in the world. Just a few cobbled streets filled with a humbling array of people yet everyone excepts one another for their difference in opinion and image. As always I take a trip to my favourite shop 'snoopers paradise.' This is basically the Aladdin's cave we've all been looking for. It's perfect.

For me this was the perfect way to end a weekend of reading and good food. 4 more years and en I get to make my way in the world there. Until next time Brighton.

Brighton Chronicles Part I

Hello everyone,
Another seaside adventure for me and the family. Brighton has always been my favourite place is England so visiting for me is like spending two days in a save haven. I love Brighton for its historic architecture yet it's modern edgy, vibe that contributes to the philosophy of 'anything goes.'

We traveled down on the Friday evening which takes a pain staking 3 hours from our home in the midlands to collapse into bed and sleep away my troubles. Only to be rudely awoken st 6.45am the next morning by my baby sister. Shes lucky she's a toddler that's all I have to say.

I decided to settle for a black skater dress, long cream cardigan and white vans as my outfit of choice, as its cool, casual and comfy. Every girls desires.
This weekend we decided it would be a change to stay in Hove rather than Brighton and I have to tell you the shops in Hove are wonderful. There are cafes of every continent and style within every corner its afternoon tea heaven. We decided to settle for Hove Kitchen, a pretty cafe whose pancakes are do die for. I decided to chow down on the heavenly pancakes with the last in the divergent trilogy Allegaint which is such a captivating book and has been glued to my hand for the past week.

After stuffing myself silly we went for a woodland walk to the most beautiful park I've ever seen. On the way to the park we came across street markings that gave such beautiful meanings.

( This was by far my favourite because of the colours and cute faces)

After marveling in there beauty I was then awe struck by the beautiful greenery of the park. The view is so mesmerizing yet forever changing, that I could sit and stare at it forever.

Along the walk we found the most secluded yet fairy tale looking seating area. It honestly looked like a scene from A Midsummer Nights Dream.

Our day of course would not be complete with out a trip to the arcade and a seafront walk. Part 2 shall be on its way very soon.
Keep smiling,
M x

Beauty Saviours

Hello everyone,
Ever since I expressed an interest in makeup I have scoured drugstore after drugstore to find my all time favourite beauty saviours. These saviors are products I have continuously repurchased once they inevitably become empty. I continue to buy these items as I fell in love on first use and continue to equally enjoy just as much time after time.

Real Techniques expert face brush, The Body shop mango body butter,
Vaseline rosy lips, Maybelline lipstick iced caramel 625.

Maybelline Lipstick, Iced Caramel - shade 625

Maybelline never fails me on their lip products however, iced caramel has been my solid favourite for years. This beautiful lipstick has a creamy texture that glides effortlessly on your lips to leave them moisturized with a stunning colour pay off. Iced caramel lives up to its name colour wise. It is a tanned peach colour which I find suits tanned skin better than paler. The warm under tones compliments the skin to give a glowy tanned effect. The smooth formula leaves your lips looking voluminous and enlarged and if using a lip exfoliate before applied, such as Lush popcorn lip scrub, this maximizes lasting time. Unfortunately it has been discontinued but if anyone knows where i can buy this please do let me know as i will be lost without it.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

If I could only have one brush for the rest of my life i would 100% use this one. It is an amazing multitasker which is always a bonus and for the price (approx £10.00) it is well worth it. I personally use mine for foundation and concealer but also think that it would be a great brush for blending contouring and possibly even blush. The shape of the brush holds extremely well even after washes and lasts along time before you need to wash them which, if like me you're to lazy to wash your brushes regularly it a bonus. The face expert also allows foundation and concealer to look natural and leaves no streaks or residue from previous uses. You can find the real techniques range in any drugstore or super market.

Vaseline Rosy Lips

I completely believe that a good lip balm is a staple in any makeup collection and Vaseline rosy lips happens to be my favourite. I love the the subtle colour it gives off, as its easy for anybody to pull of and can work as beautiful nude lip if you are going for heavy eye makeup. It works as a wonderful base for lipstick but then also works a top up for your lipstick throughout the day. The only complaint I would have with this product is, that the lid to protect the balm often gets stuck and is a nightmare to get off. Despite that I would of course continue to repurchase.

The Body Shop Mango Body Butter

Not only is the smell delicious, the finish it leaves on your skin is delightful. It doesn't take year and a day to sink into your sink which is a must for me and leaves you looking healthy and feeling baby smooth. I find a lot of body shop butter don't smell anything like its meant to so, finding one that smells like my favourite fruit and transports me to a tropical paradise is simply bliss. The scent from the butter lasts all day if you apply it in the morning and acts as sweet smelling perfume.

M x
